Pelvic pain can range from mildly annoying to all consuming, affecting your daily life and ability to engage in the activities you enjoy. Everyone has a different experience with pelvic pain, and it can be very distressing. At Liberty Pelvic Health, our aim is to get you back to doing the things you enjoy most.

Most people who experience pelvic pain have pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. This can contribute to their pain and is often exacerbated by dysfunction in the muscles that work alongside and support the pelvic floor.

The difference with pelvic pain compared to other sites in the body is that when the pelvic floor is affected, so are the functions that the pelvic floor muscles are involved with. These include:

  • The bladder
  • The bowel
  • Sexual function
  • Breathing

At Liberty Physio, we understand that pelvic pain is complex in nature, and we aim to identify both the peripheral (muscle joints, nerves) and the central (brain) factors that are contributing to your pain, and help you to manage these. We work closely with gynaecologists, pain specialists, psychologists and GPs to ensure you have the best possible outcome.

Our expert physiotherapists can help you with your pelvic pain, including: endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, pudendal neuralgia, bladder pain syndrome, vulvodynia and vaginismus, dyspareunia (painful sex), bladder or bowel issues, sensitive claims, and mesh complications.
